St Helens is a very popular tourist location and a small fishing village on the beautiful North East Coast of Tasmania. St Helens is the largest town on the north-east coast of Tasmania and set on spectacular Georges Bay. It is known as the game fishing capital of Tasmania and is also renowned for its oysters. It is located on the Tasman Highway, app. 160 km east of Tasmania’s second largest city, Launceston. St Helens is part of the Break O’Day Council, a council that includes the nearby town of Binalong Bay where you will find the spectacular Bay Of Fires free camping, A number of shops can be found in St Helens such as a Supa IGA, a bottleshop, cafes, takeaway. Be sure to try the fresh fish and chips at the St Helens Wharf.

The RV site St Helens on the North-East Coast of Tassie is located at the St Helens Recreation Centre. The area is only small, gravel and flat but offers no shade. The area can accommodate approximately 10-12 self-contained RV vehicles. Visitors to this location can easily park their vehicles and walk into central St Helens being an easy stroll to which is an easy stroll to cafes, shops and other attractions. There are no bookings, and no costs. The maximum stay is 24-hours only.

You must have a fully self-contained motorhome, campervan or caravan to stay at the Smithton RV Friendly park, which is located just a  short drive out of the centre of the small Tassie North West Coast town of Smithton at the popular resort Tall Timbers. This means only vehicles that carry its own water supply, contains internal washing and toilet facilities, and has an onboard wastewater storage tank can stay at the location.

A vehicle is deemed to satisfy the requirement to be a fully self-contained vehicle if it is accredited by the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia under its Self Contained Vehicles Policy of 2016, and displays a current SCV panel issued by the CMCA.

This is a large area that is flat and well grassed and with great shade if you are early. This free RV stay in St Helens is a 15-minute drive to the centre of St Helens where you can buy groceries at an IGA supermarket, do banking, food, obtain counter meals, buy fuel, coffee, use a post office and visit other shops including a newsagency.
