Bruny Island is a very popular location located in Southern Tasmania and accessed by ferry from the small fishing, agricultural and holiday town of Kettering. This car ferry takes only 15-minutes and costs app. $33 return per car. For a long time, Tasmanians have been visiting Bruny Island to enjoy its beautiful beaches, great fishing and relaxed lifestyle. There are some fantastic bushwalks on Bruny Island and some great camping at South Bruny and The Neck. Bruny Island is home to less than 1000 permanent residents, but this number swells during summer, Easter and during long weekends and school holidays. Bruny Island is also growing its reputation as an adventure hotspot with activities such as the Bruny Island Cruise and also for its great food and wine including the Bruny Island Vineyard.
This is a great park, that is located in a spectacular location adjacent to Adventure Bay Nature Reserve. The park is family-friendly and is kept clean and tidy. It offers powered sites, non-powered sites and has self-contained cabins. THere are also a small number of caravans that are individually owned, but there are no permanent residents. Children can swim at the safe swimming beach immediately opposite the park. THere are also kayaks for hire, where you can paddle in the river at the rear of the park. You can also fish in the river (fresh water) for bream, and in the ocean for a wide range of saltwater species including squid and flathead.
